This Exquisite and wonderful 20x 20 inch antique art work has a round hand painting landscape scenery on black square marble. It is signed by master artist John Thomas Parry.
this information received from his great grand daughter from New Zealand.
provenance:
born 28 June 1853 Chwgrel Goch, Landegai, Carnarvon, Wales and Died on 21 March 1913, Workhouse Infirmary Bangor, Carnarvon, Wales. Cause of death Cereberal Thrombosis. The cause of death is consistant with the story that he died after a fall, while climbing Mt Snowdon, ie he probably had a head injury which would have led to the Cereberal Thrombosis.
This incredible Antique and Unique painting is on a black marble and signed by JOHN T PARRY , J T Parry AP IDWAL on 1899.
This decorative painting is beautiful. The signature indicates JT. Parry AP IDWAL 1899. it is in wonderful great condition, vintage imperfection on the marble. It is quite Rare and unusual.
i have been educated communicating Artist's great great grand daughter. She indicated that Mr. Parry was born in 1853,lived in Wales and died shortly before his grand daughter was born. one of his art work is now in National Library of Wales (" Mount" Idwal sunset). He is known for his paintings on a slab according to his gggdaughter who lives in New Zealand.she believes that Lord Penrhyn paid for Mr. John Thomas Parry's art training in Wales. At the time, she was researching about her family's history and came across my painting.
